*Who we are*
*National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI)* is the umbrella organization for all retail payment systems in India.  
Set up in *2008* with the support and guidance of the *Reserve Bank of India (RBI)* and *Indian Banks’ Association (IBA)*, NPCI is a not-for-profit company focused on transforming retail payments.

Our Purpose
To build robust, scalable, and inclusive payment infrastructure for India.  
Our goal: *"To touch every Indian with one or other payment services."*

What we do - Key Products
NPCI operates most of India’s retail payment systems:

1. *UPI - Unified Payments Interface*: Instant bank-to-bank payments via mobile. Powers BHIM, PhonePe, GPay, Paytm etc.
2. *RuPay*: India’s own card network. Debit, credit & prepaid cards
3. *IMPS*: 24x7 immediate fund transfer
4. *AePS - Aadhaar Enabled Payment System*: Banking for rural India using Aadhaar
5. *FASTag*: Electronic toll collection
6. *BBPS - Bharat Bill Payment System*: One-stop bill payment platform
7. *NACH*: Automated clearing for bulk payments like salaries, pensions
8. *BHIM*: NPCI’s own UPI app

Our Global Arm
*NPCI International Payments Ltd (NIPL)* - launched in 2020  
NIPL takes UPI and RuPay global. We help other countries build real-time payment systems and enable Indians to pay abroad with UPI QR. We also enable NRIs to use UPI in India.
